Welcome to The Whistler Sliding Centre in the beautiful Fitzsimmons valley on the southeast slope of Blackcomb Mountain. The Whistler Sliding Centre is the site of the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton competitions for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. This high performance, world-class sliding sports venue includes a 1,450 metre long competition track, as well as venue support buildings. Built on the shared traditional territories of the Squamish and Lil’wat First Nations, this venue is a spiritual place. To the Squamish, the area is known as a Wild Spirit Place, or Kwekwayex Kwelh7aynexw, while the Lil’wat call it A7x7ulmecw, or Spirited Ground.

  • This combined bobsleigh, luge and skeleton venue is one of only 15 sliding tracks in the world.
  • The official track speed record 153.98 km/h was clocked by a single men's luge athlete during competition February 21, 2009.
